December Theme Day: Bridges

The December theme day is BRIDGES. American Fork, Utah has one little River, the American Fork River, which is where we got our town's name. It's a small river, thus we don't have any large memorable bridges in town, just several small bridges that cross over it in the canyon. (LOCALS: Correct me if I am wrong.)

The "La Sabre Club"

I wish I had a little more to write about this establishment, but I actually don't know much. The other side has what looks like a beer garden on the roof. It is on Merchant Street just across from the Post Office and the reverse side is next door to the Veteran's Memorial Hall.

Dancing at the Apollo

My good friend and her husband used to go country dancing every Thursday at the Apollo and would invite us to go. We never got around to going and now they don't have country dancing here anymore. Sad.

I have only been inside once, and it is a really neat old place, with theater seats mounted to the floors on the sides of the dance floor and a stage at the front. We attended a Sparkly Pals benefit program for Parker and we LOVED it. The dancers were so talented and charming and we left feeling fantastic!

Modest is Hottest

Shade Clothing has a building in downtown American Fork. Anyone in Utah County, actually, anyone from Utah has probably heard of Shade Clothing. Those of you from elsewhere will be interested to know that Shade specializes in modest clothing. They are specifically known for undershirts that are long to be layered under other shirts so that girls and women are able to wear the latest styles and still be modest.

This is a side view of their downtown location. I thought that the mannequins could use a little Shade to be modest!!

My neighbor has a Shade swimsuit and it is so cute and very covering. That is a difficult thing to find anymore!!
