Centennial Park, Another View

I have to give my husband credit for this one, he captured this pretty shot. I was looking for more information about this park online, but couldn't really dig anything up. My understanding is that it was made in dedication of American Fork's centennial, back in the 60's?? but I am wondering about the rest of its history... what the structures were for, what they originally looked like, why they aren't maintained/repaired? Any locals (or not-so-locals) out there have some clues to this mystery (or speculation)?

Centennial Park

We drove down to Centennial Park last night. It has neat old structures and an amazing view of the mountains, though the entire park is in need of some serious repairs. Concrete benches are crumbling, stucco is basically dissolving. There is a nice new playground there, which is interesting to see side by side with the older structures.

Theme Day: Best Photo of 2007

Happy New Year!

For today's theme day photo, I wanted to choose something that either showed off what an amazing photographer I have become or that was especially "American Fork" and showed off what a great town we live in.

Well... when it came down to looking back at the many photos I have posted this year, the one I liked best was a simple photo that shows off the amazing beauty and variety that God has created and that we enjoy each day.

View From Tibble Fork Reservoir

Happy New Year to all my blog readers and especially my City Daily Photo Blog family.

This is a picture of a mountain peak that is visible from the Tibble Fork Reservoir. We love to come walk, eat picnics, take pictures and people watch up at the Reservoir during all 4 seasons. It is spectacular there!

Maybe in the next few days or weeks I will dig out an old photo we took there and tell you a story about an old Coleman stove that contains some humor.

Road Trip Flashback: Provo's Rock Canyon Park

This is one from the archives, clear back to February 2006. We were playing with our new GPS that we had gotten for Christmas, doing GPS mazes, with some friends. Kids from all over town had come to Rock Canyon Park to sled. div>
