City Daily Photo Blog Theme Day: The Color Blue (AND PINK, in my case!)

This big blue sign caught my eye as I drove past the American Fork Hospital. They have a cancer care center there that is wonderful. I know that because I had a good friend and a sweet aunt who received care here. They have both passed on now, but I will be forever grateful to the people who served them there.

Cancer is frequently on my mind, probably because I knew 4 people who passed away from cancer in 2006 and it really shocked me. Also, in October, I participated in "Pilates for Pink" at the American Fork Recreation Center. This was an opportunity to raise awareness of breast cancer and raise money to fight it.

Also, as we were exercising, Christy, the instructor, spouted factoids about Breast Cancer to help us be more educated about it. Of course I can't remember everything she said, but the one thing she taught me that really stuck was that exercising vigorously 3 times per week decreases your chances of breast cancer significantly. I didn't know that! Just another reason to get my buns to the gym.

Enjoy BLUE day around the City Daily Photo Blogs. To check out more beautiful blue pictures:

The look on the doggy's face says it all, doesn't it? It'd be fun to see a dog walking a human on a leash dressed as a dog!

Happy theme day!

A nice tribute to those who provide care. It seems we all know several people fighting cancer. Keep up the exercise. In addition to the gym surly brisk walks in search of a photo help as well.

I didn't know this expression "to get my buns to the gym"! Thank you for your photo and your message, the fight must go on. In France, women can run in many cities to inform and collect money for the research.
I'm happy you've enjoyed my "blues".

That sign is a reminder to get regular checkups.

I emailed the Historical Society to ask them the meaning of my blue wall mural photo. They gave me an interesting description. Please stop by my site to read about it. Thanks.

Superdedooper post! It's perfect for our theme day and makes us think, too. I'm up for a mammography and other regular tests tomorrow (how fun!). And, hey, that masked person in the produce department from yesterday looks like a fruit bat to me! ;^)
Happy theme day,
