"Hecktacopters" and my NEW CAMERA!

My Nikon D40 came today and I walked around town a bit taking photos. I am loving it so far. Anyone else out there have this camera? Any tips or hints?

When we were kids my dad used to call these "hecktacopters" because "helicopters" is just a little bit PG-13.

Thanks for putting me as todays fav! I remember playing with those 'heckacopters'. We used to put them in our mouth and be able to wistle. Then throw them up and let them flutter down.

You might find Thom Hogan's field guide for the D40 to be a little easier read than Nikon's manual: http://www.bythom.com/

Hope you can bring your new toy to the January photowalk! AT

I just hopped over here from Selma ALA Daily photo (Ramlbing Round)
and saw that you have a D40. I have a D40X which is very similar I believe.

I LOVE my camera...and have purchased the field guide that goes with it "Nikon D40/D40X Digitial Field Guide" by David Busch. I got the camera in July and I am still learning how to use it :)
