Spent the afternoon at Thanksgiving Point Farm County yesterday with some of my favorite chickies.

2 Buck Tuesday: SNAKE!

This little fella was resting just under the water on top of a lilypad near the rose garden at Thanksgiving Poing Gardens.

Thanksgiving Point in Lehi is a wonderful family-friendly attraction all year round, but it becomes extremely budget-friendly in August when each location is only 2 dollars on Tuesdays. We have been to the gardens 3 times this month and it has been lovely.

Highland Glen Park: Panorama

Stitched some photos together for a panorama at Highland Glen park last Tuesday. We meant to go Monday for family night, but the rain scared us off. Tuesday was perfect, though. We enjoyed feeding the ducks some stale hot dog buns that were kindly shared with us and watched a Boy Scout troop go the extra mile to clean up trash around the lake.

Hogle Zoo

We have been saving up our Cache Valley cheese wrappers to get into Hogle Zoo free and finally went up on Friday. What a busy but great day at the zoo! We loved the bird show so much we saw it twice.

If you don't know about the Cache Valley cheese promotion, you should! It's awesome... all you have to do is present 4 Cache Valley cheese packages (empty!) and you get a free ticket to the zoo, the Bees or the movies. You gotta hurry, because it's only until the end of July! Here are more details.

Snails

This frozen family has been under a log in the corner of our yard and were unearthed last weekend as we moved our little raised beds. One giant frozen snail glob.

Duck... Duck...

Goose! Highland Glen Park has a fishing pond and ducks and geese who might be overfed. I say that because they were sort of picky... they REFUSED the stale tortilla chips and appeared to tolerate the Sara Lee bread.

More Creepy Crawlies at the Library

This little beauty is an African Millipede (I think). The little legs feel pretty creepy, kind of like someone is tickling you with boar-hair hairbrush.

Leopard Gecko at the American Fork Library

Last night, for family night, we went to the American Fork Library for their summer reading program about insects. They had the Bean Museum from BYU there with some bug specimens, both dead and alive, and a leopard gecko.

A Functional Birdhouse

We all have pet-peeves. I won't take the opportunity rant and rave right here, but I will divulge a little bit about myself by saying how ELATED I was to see this little bird emerge from this birdhouse near Rotary Park. There is something so satisfying about seeing a FUNCTIONAL birdhouse. It just tickles me.

Road Trip: Arches National Park (1)

I promised to show off some photos I took while in Moab last weekend. This little feller met us on the trail down from the Delicate Arch in Arches National Park on Saturday. His little brother was hiding under the rock and scrambled away before I could snap his picture.
