O Tannenbaum

I start listening to Christmas songs in about August and LOVE to see Christmas decorations hang on through the winter months.

More from the Garden Fair...

I call these flowers "Puffs" as I don't know their real name. Another example of water-wise landscaping.

Wheel Yard Art (2)

When I posted the wagon wheel yard art yesterday, I didn't know that this was going to be a series. BUT, as I walked around town this morning I caught glimpse of two more yards sporting yard art made from wheels. I will post this one today and another tomorrow. I wonder if I will run into more, now that I have noticed it.

Wagon Wheel Yard Decoration

An afternoon stroll through the drizzle revealed this yard decoration next to the road.

"My Mom is a Princess. My Dad is a Prince." 'Street Mural'

This would have made a very tender themeday post for this month, but I only just took the photo on Wednesday. I don't know who wrote it, just that it was written on a driveway while I was out enjoying the pretty, but chilly, weather with a friend and her dogs.

I love the sentiment and believe that it is true!

I am glad to be back posting about American Fork and the wonderful places and people that are in this city.

Speaking of wonderful American Fork, I just heard this week about a fabulous event coming up in June. On June 9th, the American Fork Library will be having a Fablehaven party, complete with the author, Brandon Mull. I still don't know all of the details, but all of you fairies and other mythical creatures need to start planning your costumes. I know I am!!

Also, did you see that I guessed 3/4 eliminated American Idols correctly?

Frozen Fountain (3) Close-Up

This is the same fountain I showed yesterday, on the same day, but closer and a different view. We drove past it last night and it is lit up at night! And me without my camera!

Frozen Fountain (3)

Just outside of AF, into Lehi, sort of behind the Lowe's Hardware. I have admired this many times in the summer, but in the winter it definitely has a "something" about it!

Frozen Fountain (1)

This is a fairly recent addition to Pacific Avenue. This is the first photo in a series of frozen fountains I will be showcasing this week. I had driven past this one about 5 times before I figured out that it is a fountain. It is a fountain, right? (It crossed my mind that maybe it is an ice fort in the making) Pretty cool, I think.

BRRRR! Snow (Finally)

Everyone has been expecting snow for a few days and it was just a matter of time. It was rainy and wet this morning, by the time we left for Costco it had started to snow big fat flakes, and by the time we got out of the store we were totally frozen and drenched between the store and the car. If you have to go out in this, please be careful!

Welcome Home!

I passed this sign this afternoon when I didn't have my camera with me and I had to go back. I don't even know the family who lives in this home, but their excitement is contagious.
Welcome home!! Glad to have you back. Thank you for your sacrifice.

Santa Claus is Coming to Town

Now that Thanksgiving is over, I will finally embrace the fact that Christmas is almost here. The stores have been trying to get us to buy presents, candy and decorations since September and one of the local radio stations has been playing all Christmas music since Halloween. I was trying out the nighttime setting on our camera and took this tonight of a friendly Santa in the neighborhood.

Snapdragons

The leaves are almost gone and most everything is dying off for winter, but occasionally you can see a few pretty little flowers still holding on. They are more beautiful to me now than in Springtime.

TrainYARD

This is a yard I saw while walking the other day. It is AMAZING. The traintracks go all the way around the yard and there are train crossings in front of the driveway. I LOVED it!!
