It's themeday in the City Daily Photo Blog community, and the theme is "No Signs". I went a little bit outside of American Fork city limits to grab this sign that has been altered to read, "Can't stop hip hop". Cracks me up every time I see it! :)

Theme Day: Numbers

My husband is training for a marathon and we ran in the Salt Lake Marathon 5K 2 weeks ago. Even though we only did the 5k, we were able to watch the marathon and half marathon runners cross the finish line. AMAZING!

The 26.2 store, formerly Hoppers, sits prominently on the corner of 1st East and First North in American Fork. I pass by this a several times a week, if not daily. It's a running store where you can get a video gait analysis. I haven't had that done yet, because I could just ask anyone if I want someone to tell me I run like a duck! Just kidding, I don't think they actually would say that. But to find out, you should stop by.

Here is a bonus number for you... 1903. It's the start of a little series I am going to be doing this week on American Fork's Historic City Hall.

April Theme Day: Water

American Fork is named after the American Fork River and is nestled next to Utah Lake, so I thought I would show them both off to you today.

I took this photo in February when it was (a lot) colder than it is now. I posted this before, but thought it was perfect for themeday this month. This is the American Fork Boat Harbor and this family is ice fishing:

March 2008 Theme Day: Graffiti or street mural

I've been missing for a few days and now late with my theme day post because we ran off to Moab this weekend for some sun and adventure. The weather was perfect, but we did end up driving through a blizzard in Spanish Fork Canyon on the way home.

Even though it's 3+ hours from here to Moab, I am going to show off some of the pics I took there later this week. To my knowledge, there isn't another City Daily Photo Blogger in Utah and it's a shame to not share the delicate arch with the world!

My theme day photo was taken last fall in downtown American Fork just a block from the library on Main Street.

American Fork doesn't really have what I would consider interesting graffiti, but it does have this beautiful mural downtown next to the bike shop on Main Street. Also, there are giant posters of Tahitian Noni (not pictured) on the side of the old abandoned Walmart store on 5th east, maybe I will have to show those off some time.

City Daily Photo Blog Theme Day: What your city is known for

These four photos represent, to me, what American Fork is known for.

Top Left: This is a photo of our extremely talented and hardworking marching band. They performed in the Rose Bowl Parade a few years back and marched in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade last November. We are very proud of them. Go Cavemen!

Top Right: The LDS Mount Timpanogos Temple. Many people only know American Fork because they have seen photos of this beautiful and special building. There are many LDS people in American Fork and this building holds special significance to us.

Bottom Right: Fall colors on the Alpine Loop, American Fork Canyon. The Alpine Loop is famous for having some of the most brilliant fall colors in the country. (This is a particularly wonderful time to visit American Fork.)

Bottom Left: Mount Timpanogos. A beautiful mountain with a beautiful legend. I will share a version of it with you tomorrow. It is breathtaking in all four seasons.
